On my watchlist are stocks i will be paying attention to in this coming trading week. It is not a Buy/Sell/Hold recommendation.
Sofi
Sofi takes the first place because it will be releasing its results before the US market opens. As a high growth stock, it has passionate camps for both for and against.
Boeing and Starbucks
Boeing will drop its unaudited Q4 numbers before the US market opens on Tuesday. Analysts will want to know if there are any changes to its delivery targets for the coming quarter.
Starbucks will drop its Q4 earnings after market close. Analysts would be interested in how far turnaround efforts are going.
Meta, Tesla and Microsoft
3 of the Mag 7 stocks will be dropping their earnings after Wednesday’s trading in the United States.
For Meta, expect questions around AI spending. For Tesla, the focus will be on self driving and a timeline for new/revamped models.
Analysts on the Microsoft call will have questions around AI spending.
Mastercard, Intel, Visa, Apple
Apple’s earnings are scheduled to drop on Thursday after US trading hours. A couple of analysts have downgraded the stock. If management has a weak forecast for the rest of the year, i expect the stock price to tumble.
Mastercard and Visa have insight to global consumer spending. Analysts would want to know if they have seen any signs of weakness, in the last quarter.
Geregu Power and BUA Foods
Geregu and BUA Foods have board meetings have been scheduled to hold on 29 January, 2025
Geregu’s board will consider and approve the 2024 Audited Financial Statements and Accounts for the year ended 31 December, 2024.
BUA’s board will consider amongst other agenda items, the 4th Quarter 2024 Unaudited Financial Statements for the period ended 31 st December 2024
GAZ banks (GTCO, Access and Zenith)
The GAZ banks will be having board meetings to consider their audited FY 2024 results. Results should drop much later in February
Airtel Africa
Airtel Africa will release its results for the nine month period ended 31 December 2024 on Thursday, 30 January 2025. Management will host a presentation and conference call on the day of results for analysts and investors at 13h00 UK time.
I expect lots of questions around their approach to the approved tariff increase and a bit more colour on the mobile money operations.
Exxon Mobil and Chevron
Exxon Mobil and Chevron round up my watchlist for the week.
Im a bit of a contrarian when it comes to oil. While most forecasts are for much lower oil prices, i believe heightened geopolitical and trade risks will keep oil within the mid 70s to 80 range.
